5 Year Payment Arrangements for Electric and Gas Bills Temporarily Available
Do you owe money to PECO or PGW (Philadelphia Gas Works) for your electric or gas bills? You might be able to get a five-year payment arrangement from these utility companies so that you don’t have to pay off your debt all at once.
If you are a PECO or PGW customer who can’t get into a low-income program, ask the company about a five-year (60-month) payment arrangement. Make sure to ask as soon as possible, as these five-year extensions must be arranged by September 30, 2021.
The five-year arrangements may be available to customers based on their income. Check out the image below - created by Community Legal Services (CLS) - to see monthly income limits based on household size.
The extended payment arrangements are part of a plan approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to help customers pay-down their balances in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. PUC regulates utility companies in Pennsylvania, including PECO and PGW.
