5 Year Payment Arrangements for Electric and Gas Bills Temporarily Available

  •

Do you owe money to PECO or PGW (Philadelphia Gas Works) for your electric or gas bills? You might be able to get a five-year payment arrangement from these utility companies so that you don’t have to pay off your debt all at once.

If you are a PECO or PGW customer who can’t get into a low-income program, ask the company about a five-year (60-month) payment arrangement. Make sure to ask as soon as possible, as these five-year extensions must be arranged by September 30, 2021

The five-year arrangements may be available to customers based on their income. Check out the image below - created by Community Legal Services (CLS) - to see monthly income limits based on household size.

The extended payment arrangements are part of a plan approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to help customers pay-down their balances in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. PUC regulates utility companies in Pennsylvania, including PECO and PGW.

For more information on how to get help with your utility bills or if you have received a shutoff notice, see CLS’s webpage on Gas and Electric Shutoffs in Philadelphia. Or call CLS at (215) 981-3700.
