Digital Assistants for Landlord-Tenant and Debt Collection Cases in Philadelphia
If you are a Philadelphian representing yourself in a debt collection case or a Landlord-Tenant case regarding non-payment of rent in Municipal Court, check out these new digital assistants for guidance:
- Consumer Debt Collection Information Bot (CODI)
- Tenant/Landlord Digital Assistant (T/LDA)
These tools will ask you questions and give you customized information based on your answers. You can download this information as a guide to help you prepare for a hearing at court.
CODI will help you understand your debt collection case in Philadelphia Municipal Court. Codi will ask questions about your situation so it can give you accurate information.
You may be asked for information that’s on a paper you got from the court. If so, Codi will tell you how to find that information.
Based on your answers, Codi will:
- Explain any court forms you have,
- Create personalized information about your case,
- Give information about how to prepare for court, and
- Provide general information about debt collection cases.
FYI: Codi cannot take any actions for you. It does not store your information and none of your answers are saved or given to the court.
T/LDA (pronounced "Tilda") is a digital guide dog to walk you through a Landlord-Tenant case for non-payment of rent in the Philadelphia Municipal Court, one step at a time.
How T/LDA can help:
- T/LDA will ask you questions about your situation
- T/LDA will give you information about the court process and your options based on your answers
- T/LDA will direct you to other resources that can help
It might sound obvious, but remember that neither one of these digital assistants is a person or a lawyer. They won’t give you legal advice.
Both of these tools can be found on the Philadelphia Municipal Court, Civil Division webpage.
