Using Google Translate with Jenkins Research Guides
In a recent blog post, we highlighted the Google Translate feature on Jenkins’ website. We hope this will be a helpful tool to allow more people to find information on our site, including the content in our various Research Guides. For example, our Self-Help guides help point people towards legal aid in Philadelphia, resources for particular legal issues, and links to free legal information online.
Let's take a look at the Domestic Violence & Protection From Abuse page of our Self-Help guide. This page includes the numbers for 24-hour hotlines in Philadelphia, organizations that support people experiencing relational violence, and websites that provide links to related forms and legal information. To see this page in Spanish, for example, select that language from the dropbox in the upper right corner of the page.
Here’s how the page looks in Spanish, using the Google Translate feature:
And here’s how the same appears after selecting Haitian Creole from the list of languages:
With over 50 languages in the Google Translate feature to choose from, we hope our website will be more accessible to all.
