Artificial Intelligence Law 2021

Artificial Intelligence is a hot topic, touching on various legal issues such as information privacy & data protection, intellectual property, and civil liberties. With the proliferation of personal assistant devices and the increasing use of algorithms in our everyday lives, related justice issues - such as those raised in the 2020 documentary Coded Bias, for example - have also come to the forefront of modern society.

To stay up to date with such timely issues, check out Artificial Intelligence Law 2021, the most recent addition to the series by PLI Press. Initially compiled as the Course Handbook for PLI’s program of the same name, the volume also “stands alone as a permanent reference.”

Artificial Intelligence Law 2021 is composed of 21 chapters and includes an index. The volume covers the basics of AI as well as more specific topics that examine current events and pertinent questions of the day. Chapters 4 and 5 discuss how AI has been used in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, while Chapter 11 addresses “AI and the Fourth Amendment: When Alexa Can Be a Witness Against You”. Several other chapters focus on matters such as bias, fairness, transparency, and ethical use of AI in law practice.

Artificial Intelligence Law 2021 is currently available for curbside pickup, as are the series volumes from 2019 and 2020
