Pennsylvania Legislative Histories

  •

Jenkins' website recently launched a new interface for our Pennsylvania Legislative Histories database. Legislative histories help in determining the legislative intent of an act. The Pennsylvania Legislative Histories database contains librarian compiled legislative histories in PDF format. The information was obtained from the Legislative Journals of the House and Senate, the source for debates/remarks made in the General Assembly.

Our new interface allows searching on multiple fields, such as year, P.L number and short title. Whenever possible, search results display both the short title and full name/act summary to help you efficiently identify which act you need. In addition, access is streamlined. By clicking on the thumbnail image, you may view the legislative history in your browser without having to download or print it.

Have questions regarding our new interface? Contact us. For more information on where to find reports or hearings, check out our Pennsylvania Legislative History research guide.
