New at Jenkins: Kohn on Music Licensing, 5th ed.

The 5th edition of Kohn on Music Licensing by Bob Kohn is now at Jenkins. This title “is a guide to the licensing process from both sides of the deal - helping copyright owners understand how to maximize the value of their songs and recordings while helping those who wish to use music for commercial purposes understand how best to obtain the licenses they need.” (pg. 3). The 5th edition provides extensive coverage of recent changes in music licensing including recordings on the internet, multimedia, and videogames. The title also includes over 160 sample forms that can be downloaded directly from the CD included with the book. Chapters cover “Songwriter Agreements”, “The Language of Music Licensing”,  “Formalities of Music Licensing”, “The Digital Sampling Controversy”, “The Fair Use Controversy”, and more.
