The Bluebook 20th Edition Available Now!

The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation, one of the most well-known legal citation stylebooks, has published its 20th edition. Jenkins has four copies of this newest edition. One copy is located in the General Collection and is available for loan; the other three copies are located in the Reference Room and do not loan. For those interested in how The Bluebook has evolved, Jenkins also retains copies of previous editions, and our collection goes back to the 12th edition from 1976. Individuals looking for electronic access to The Bluebook can purchase an online subscription. The Rulebook App is also available for purchase for Apple iOS devices.

For alternatives to The Bluebook, check out the Legal tab of our Dictionaries, Thesauri, and More resource guide. The "Legal Citation and Style Guides" box includes alternatives like the ALWD Citation Guide, PA Style: A Pennsylvania Stylebook and Citation Guide for Lawyers, and Prince's Dictionary of Legal Citations. Online alternatives, like Basic Legal Citation from the Cornell University Law School Legal Information Institution and The University of Chicago Law Review: The Maroonbook, are also listed.
