Pennsylvania Appellate Dockets

There are many reasons for using Pennsylvania appellate dockets.  Keeping current with filings in a case and investigating how many cases an attorney has taken to appeal are a few popular uses. As an example of another useful application, here are the steps to finding a trial court judge’s opinions that are currently being appealed.

From the Research Guides webpage, select the Pennsylvania Dockets – Quick Links.  On that webpage select the Pennsylvania Appellate Court hyperlink.  On the Appellate Court Docket Sheets webpage, click the drop-down menu for Search Type and select Court Name.   On the new webpage, select Superior Court from the drop-down menu for Court Name.  Select Active in the drop-down menu for the Case Status box.  Click the drop-down menu for Trial Court County and select the County you are interested in.  Click the drop-down menu for Trial Court Judge and select the judge you are interested in.  Click the Search button at the bottom of the webpage to retrieve the cases that the trial court judge currently has on appeal in Superior Court.
