State-by-state surveys are useful when you want to compare how different states approach the same topic. Library visitors can create their own surveys using Bloomberg Law's Chart Builder. This feature includes over 180 subjects covering 9 different practice areas.

Users can find the Chart Builder feature in the "Practitioner Tools" tab.

Bloomberg Law organizes the charts into 9 broad practice areas: Banking & Consumer Finance, Bankruptcy, Blue Sky/Securities, Corporate, Data Security & Privacy, Health Care, Intellectual Property, Labor & Employment, and Tax. Each practice area has multiple subjects within it.

Once you find your desired subject, select the jurisdiction(s) and topic(s) you are interested in and create the chart.

After the chart is created, it can be exported in Excel format.

Bloomberg Law's Chart Builder can be used on the Bloomberg Law workstation in the library. Need help navigating Bloomberg Law onsite? Ask our reference librarians!
