Are You Ready For The 2020 PA General Election?

  •

Are you ready for Election Day? Deadlines for the General Election are coming up fast! October 19, 2020 is the deadline to register or update your voter registration, and October 27, 2020 (by 5:00 pm) is the deadline to sign up for a mail ballot. If you are unsure about your registration status, you can check online.

Voters can apply for a mail-in ballot online through the PA Department of State website. Thanks to Act 77 of 2019, all PA voters now have the option to vote by mail without having to provide a reason. After completing your mail-in ballot, make sure to seal your ballot inside the inner secrecy envelope before placing it in the mailing envelope. Also remember to sign the back of the larger mailing envelope where indicated.

Mail your ballot as early as possible. At the latest, it must be postmarked by 8:00 pm on Election Day, November 3rd. Mail ballots can also be left at any of Pennsylvania’s secure drop boxes and drop off sites. Visit voterspa.com for the list of locations. If you have requested or sent a mail ballot, you can check the status by filling out this online form.

For step-by-step instructions on how to complete and return your mail ballot, see the PA Department of State videos "What's In The Mail?" - How to Complete a Pennsylvania Mail-in Ballot, and Mail-In Voting for Pennsylvania's General Election. Actor and PA native, Bradley Cooper also has you covered with Bradley Cooper on How to Vote in Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia has also opened in-person satellite voting offices where “voters can register or update their voter registration, apply for a mail-in ballot in person, receive their ballot, complete their ballot, and return it, all in one visit.” A list of the sites can be found on philadelphiavotes.com
