McCormick on Evidence

  •

The 8th edition of McCormick on Evidence (2020) by  Robert P. Mosteller, Kenneth S. Broun, George E. Dix, et al. is now available on the West Academic Digital Library. The goal of this classic title is "to set out the law of Evidence in as complete and understandable a manner as possible in a work of moderate length" (Preface). This work offers a great, thorough introduction to some of the major issues related to evidence. Chapters include "Cross-Examination and Subsequent Examinations", "The Procedure of Admitting and Excluding Evidence", "Relevance", "Experimental and Scientific Evidence" and "The Hearsay Rule". There are also several chapters devoted to privileges.

This student edition retains the most notable footnotes, but for more extensive annotations, see the practitioner's edition of McCormick. The two volume Practitioner Treatise Series edition is available to borrow through Jenkins' Books Ready to Go! program.
