U.S. Government Publishing Office

Need a copy of the Federal Budget (including analytical perspectives)? Or access to George H.W. Bush's public papers? How about a listing of U.S. Supreme Court Nomination Hearings since 1971? govinfo has all these, and more.

govinfo provides free public access to more than one million official, full-text publications from all three branches of the Federal Government. It's replacing the Federal Digital System (FDsys) from the Government Publishing Office (GPO). govinfo has all the content from FDsys, and includes additional features, like the ability to search using multiple filters. FDsys will remain available through December 2018.

Under govinfo's Browse menu, documents are organized into ten categories, including Bills and Statutes, Budget and Presidential Materials, Congressional Committee Materials, Congressional Rules and Procedures, and Judicial Publications (which include Third Circuit Court of Appeals opinions from 2008 to present and Eastern District of Pennsylvania opinions from 2005 to present).

govinfo's Help pages provide access to Search Tips, Video Tutorials, and more.

Keep up to date with govinfo's Release Notes. The December 2017 Release Note (issued January 24, 2018) announced that govinfo is now out of beta!
