Legal Newspapers at Jenkins

Jenkins has access to a variety of legal newspapers in print and on microfilm.

We have (almost) every issue of The Legal Intelligencer, Philadelphia's legal newspaper. Our collection goes back to volume 1 (1843) and continues through today. The most recent two months can be found in the Reference Room. After two months the issues are bound by month and kept in our Periodicals area. Older issues (1843-1985) are kept in our Rare Book Room and librarians can retrieve them upon request.

We also keep hard copies of The New Jersey Law Journal. We have volume 1 (1878) through volume 57 (1934) and volume 99 (1976) through today. The most recent two to three months are kept with the Reference Department. Older issues are bound by month and kept with the rest of the Periodicals. Select issues may be inaccessible for a short period of time when they are sent out to be bound.

Looking for The New York Law Journal or The National Law Journal? We have those, too. The most recent issues are available in the Reference Room until we receive them on microfilm. For The New York Law Journal, our micro collection begins with vol. 185, no. 84 (May 1981). And for The National Law Journal, our micro collection begins with vol. 3, no. 17 (January 1981).

Librarians at Jenkins can also search these titles on Lexis. Research and document delivery charges do apply. Coverage on Lexis varies by title: The Legal Intelligencer begins with January 2, 1992, The New Jersey Law Journal begins with January 5, 1990, The New York Law Journal begins with January 3, 1989, and The National Law Journal begins with January 3, 1983.
