Health Law Articles on LegalTrac

LegalTrac has a variety of health law journals, including many in full text.

Health law journals available in full text include American Journal of Law & Medicine (Sept. 1992 - present), Developments in Mental Health Law (Jan. 1981 - Feb. 2012), Health Law Review (Mar. 2001 - present), Issues in Law & Medicine (Mar. 1989 - Sept. 2012), and Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics (Mar. 1998 - present). Some content may be delayed due to the agreement between LegalTrac and the publisher.

Other titles, like Annals of Health Law (Jan. 1992 - June 2012), Journal of Health Care Law & Policy (Sept. 1998 - Mar. 2012), Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law (Jan. 1980 - present), Journal of Legal Medicine (June 1981 - Oct. 2012), and Medical Law International (Dec. 2000 - Mar. 2012) have only indexing available.

To access this collection, use your last name and member number to log onto Jenkins' website. From the list of Member Databases, select LegalTrac. From the main search box, switch from a "Keyword" search to a "Subject" search. LegalTrac breaks health law into three subject categories: Medical Law, Mental Health Law, and Public Health Law. Searching for any of these subjects will bring back a list of articles indexed by LegalTrac with that subject heading. To search all three subject headings at once, use the subject search and search for "Medical Law" OR "Mental Health Law" OR "Public Health Law". For a larger selection of search results, un-check the "documents with full text" and "peer-reviewed publications" selections.

To narrow the search results, use the "Search within results" box, located on the left-hand side of the search results list. Other post-search limiters include document type, publication title, and date.

Documents not available in full text on LegalTrac may be available in full text via another membership database, like HeinOnline. For articles unavailable in full text in these databases, Jenkins' Interlibrary Loan Department works with other institutions to locate and deliver a variety of books and articles. Fees do apply.

LegalTrac is a membership resource available to all Jenkins members.
